El Monte, California – The entire staff from M.C. Gill Corporation recently gathered to celebrate founder Merwyn C. Gill’s 98th birthday.
Merwyn C. Gill, known as “M.C.” is a pioneer in the science of advanced composite materials. He founded the M.C. Gill Corporation in 1945 in a rented garage. The operation grew from a mom and pop operation to a global company with over 700 employees and 4 subsidiaries. M.C. has been a generous benefactor to The University of Southern California, The Boy Scouts of America and numerous community organizations. In 2006, his son, Stephen Gill became Chairman of the Board but M.C. maintains regular contact with the employees at the company headquarters in El Monte, California.
Those gathered sang a loud chorus of Happy Birthday before they shared cake and congratulations with M.C.
M.C. Gill Corporation is the oldest, continuously operating manufacturer of reinforced plastics - called "composites" - in the world. M.C. Gill Corporation is headquartered in El Monte, CA.
