El Monte, California – Merwyn C. Gill, founder and composites pioneer, announced that his son, Stephen Gill, has been elected to the position of Chairman of the Board of the M. C. Gill Corporation.

Stephen first joined M.C. Gill Corporation in a part time capacity while in high school. He continued his employment while attending the University of Southern California where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management. Upon graduation, Stephen joined M.C. Gill Corporation full time and has amassed over 50 years experience in all phases of the business.

M. C. states that, “It has been a long-term goal for the company to continue in the family and with Stephen at the helm we are assured that it will. Stephen began his tenure sweeping the floors and has progressed to Chairman over the span of his career. In the same period, the company has grown from a single building in El Monte with 12 employees to a global organization with over 600 employees in five different locations”.

Stephen Gill adds, “This is a momentous step in our plan to keep the business in the family. We will continue to grow the business with the same standards and goals in the ever changing world economy “.
