MC Gill Corporation Honored at Gas Company Energy Efficiency Expo

The Southern California Gas Company recognized M.C. Gill Corporation at the third annual Energy Efficiency Expo honoring major energy-efficiency projects. The project will reduce M.C. Gill Corporation’s annual natural gas consumption by more than 445,000 therms – enough to power 675 homes for a year.
The Gas Company’s Energy Efficiency Expo was held on April 29, 2008, to educate commercial and industrial natural gas customers about the latest energy-saving technologies and financial incentives that are available.
M.C. Gill Corporation was recognized for their commitment towards energy efficiency with a check for $159,000 from The Gas Company to help offset the cost of the project which involved replacing thermal oxidizers with two more-efficient units with heat recovery systems. The project is expected to save the company more than $220,000 per year in energy costs.
M.C. Gill Corporation joined six other companies at the event who reduced their annual gas consumption by more than 2.8 million therms, a collective annual energy savings of more than $2.5 million.
The Gas Company has $18 million in incentives available this year for commercial and industrial natural gas customers for investing in energy efficiency.
