Merwyn C. Gill, known as "M.C." is a pioneer in the science of advanced composite materials. He founded M.C. Gill Corporation in 1945 in a rented garage. The operation grew from a mom and pop operation with 2 employees to a global company today with over 700 employees, 4 subsidiaries and almost $150,000,000 in annual sales. M.C. has been a generous benefactor to The University of Southern California, The Boy Scouts of America and numerous community organizations. His son Stephen Gill, CEO and Chairman says "Through good times and bad times, M.C. has dedicated his life to its success, never wavering in his belief that 'Plastics are the Wave of the Future!' He set high standards for quality and customer service, which are still in place today."

On April 1, 2010 M.C. vacated the office he has occupied for the last 36 years and officially retired. A celebration of his life and contributions to the plastics industry will be held at the company headquarters in El Monte, California in July 2010 when M.C. turns 100 years old.
