M.C. Gill Corporation Receives Energy Efficiency Incentive from Southern California Gas Company
- 15 February 2008

El
Monte, California –M.C. Gill
Corporation has received an energy
efficiency incentive worth $159,000
from The Gas Company. The award
helped finance the purchase and
installation of a new
high-efficiency oxidizer unit for
its manufacturing facilities in El
Monte, California.
M.
C. Gill Corporation proposed the
installation of a new oxidation unit
and relocation of existing
machinery. The new system promised a
more energy-efficient method to
oxidize volatile organic chemicals (VOC’s)
and recycle the heat produced back
to existing ovens.
M.C.
Gill Corporation worked closely with
The Gas Company to maximize energy
savings and garner a Gas Company
sponsored incentive
The
new unit has reduced gas consumption
by more than 300 million cubic feet
of natural gas in the last 10
months. This represents a reduction
of more than 25 percent over
previous natural gas usage and far
exceeds original projections.
“M.C. Gill has been very proactive
in pursuing alternatives to increase
their manufacturing efficiencies.
By reducing natural gas usage and
chemical emissions, M.C. Gill is
helping the environment while saving
energy. This project is a win - win
for everyone involved and serves as
a model for other manufacturers
throughout Southern California”,
said Greg Zeronian, M.C. Gill
Corporation Director of Engineering.
M.C. Gill Corporation
is the oldest, continuously
operating manufacturer of reinforced
plastics - called "composites" - in
the world. M.C. Gill Corporation is
headquartered in El Monte, CA.
