New Airbus Qualification
- 30 June 2000

El Monte, California - 30 June 2000 - The M.C. Gill Corporation is pleased to announce that on June 30, 2000, we successfully completed qualification with Daimler Chrysler Aerospace Airbus to supply sandwich lining panels, laminated lining and h-profile channels for use in the lower cargo holds of all Airbus aircraft. Gillfab 4422 and 1367A are qualified to Airbus Industries Technical Specification 2550 M1M 0008 00 for lower deck cargo compartment sidewall and ceiling liners; Gillfab 3072 is qualified to 2550 M1M 0004 00 for 'h' profile channels used for the installation of decompression panels.

As a world leader in the design and manufacture of advanced composite cargo liners and sandwich panels, the M.C. Gill Corporation has over 50 years experience working with OEM's and airlines. These longstanding relationships have brought us a thorough knowledge of our customers' exacting requirements, which serve to define the key characteristics of our proprietary products. Our primary focus is high quality and in-service durability, areas where M.C. Gill Corporation continues to demonstrate its commitment by establishing design criteria which often exceeds even the OEM specification. In the case of Gillfab 4422, our Airbus operator customers requested that we develop a cargo lining panel having superior impact resistance and once again, the M.C. Gill Corporation delivered. During qualification testing, in order to correctly measure impact resistance, we had to use an impacter weight that was five times heavier than specified by Airbus. Gillfab 4422 still showed considerably higher test values than required by the AI specification (32 foot-pounds vs. 1.5 foot-pound requirement).

Gillfab 4422, is constructed using high impact resistant Gillfab 1367A facings bonded to Nomex® honeycomb core. As you may be aware, Gillfab 1367A was initially introduced over a decade ago in response to our customers' requirements for a high impact resistant cargo liner having low smoke and toxicity characteristics. It was incorporated into the design of Gillfab 4422 due to its proven history of superior in-service performance, supported by the fact that it remains the standard for new production aircraft and the preferred replacement cargo liner with airlines and maintenance facilities throughout the world.

Product Data Sheets and our most recent Doorway publication which provide detailed information on the mechanical and physical properties of these materials are available on request. In addition, copies of M.C. Gill Report No. AIM 2001 - Airline Instruction Manual for Cargo Liner Laminates and Panels for Airbus Aircraft and product samples are also available.

Please contact the M.C. Gill Customer Service Department at telephone number 626-443-4022 or facsimile number 626-350-5880.

With this most recent series of qualifications, the M.C. Gill Corporation can now provide you with all of your Airbus replacement cargo liner and floor panel requirements. We look forward to the opportunity to support your future needs.
